Lễ trao giải của Hiệp hội phê bình Điện ảnh Truyền thông Mỹ (Critics' Choice Movie Awards) 2015 chấm dứt đêm 15/1 (giờ địa phương). Bộ phim Birdman đã đánh bại nhiều đối thủ ở các hạng mục và thu về 7 tượng vàng. Một mình tài tử Michael Keaton nhận hai giải thưởng gồm "Nam diễn viên xuất sắc" và "Nam diễn viên xuất sắc trong phim Nhạc kịch". Các giải thưởng đáng kể khác dành cho Birdman là "Dàn diễn viên xuất sắc" và "Dựng phim xuất sắc". Cách quay và dựng phim của Birdman khiến tất cả phim giống như một đúp quay đơn kéo dài từ đầu tới cuối.
Tuy không giành nhiều giải, Boyhood mang về hai giải là "Phim xuất sắc" và "Đạo diễn xuất sắc" cho Richard Linklater. Ellar Coltrane của phim cũng được vinh danh "Nam diễn viên trẻ xuất sắc". Anh đóng phim này suốt 12 năm, kể từ lúc lên sáu tuổi. Julianne Moore chiến thắng ở hạng mục "Nữ diễn viên chính xuất sắc" cho phim Still Alice.
a ma tơ J.K. Simmons của phim Whiplash và minh tinh Patricia Arquette của phim Boyhood đấu lặp lại thắng lợi ở Quả Cầu Vàng khi tuần tự giành hai giải "Nam diễn viên phụ xuất sắc" và "Nữ diễn viên phụ xuất sắc".

Có ba phim bị Oscar bỏ qua nhưng được Hiệp hội phê bình trao giải. The Lego Movie trở thành "Phim hoạt hình xuất sắc". Life Itself của đạo diễn Steve James kể về cuộc đời nhà phê bình Roger Ebert giành giải "Phim tài liệu xuất sắc". Phim Force Majeure giành giải "Phim nói tiếng nước ngoài hay nhất". Force Majeure là tác phẩm Thụy Điển của đạo diễn Ruben Östlund, xoay quanh câu chuyện một gia đình khi cả nhà đi leo núi.
Nữ diễn viên Jessica Chastain được xướng tên ở giải thưởng "Lựa chọn của Hiệp hội phê bình". Giải thưởng mới này vinh danh hoạt động điện ảnh trổi của minh tinh với bốn phim trong năm qua. Trong khi nam diễn viên gạo cội Kevin Costner được trao giải "thành quả trọn đời".
Critics' Choice Movie Award là giải thưởng thường niên được Hiệp hội phê bình Điện ảnh Truyền thông Mỹ trao từ năm 1996. Giải được bình chọn bởi các nhà phê bình và nhà báo của hơn 280 đài truyền hình, phát thanh, báo điện tử. Critics' Choice Movie Award cũng là một chỉ báo tin cậy cho Oscar sắp tới. Trong số 19 hạng mục trùng nhau năm ngoái, 17 hạng mục thắng lợi Giải Hiệp hội phê bình rút cục đã thắng Oscar.
